Arlene R. Young

Arlene R. Young September 3, 1918 ~ October 29, 2012 Arlene R. Young, 94, of Linesville (Pennline), passed away Monday, October 29, 2012, at her residence. Born September 3, 1918 in Pennline, Pa, she was the daughter of Claude and Helen Aldrich Maloney. She married Alex Young on March 9, 1940; he preceded her in death on May 14, 1979, She was a 1936 graduate of Linesville High School. Arlene was a loving and devoted homemaker. She had worked as an assistant cook at the former Graham School in Linesville for several years. Arlene was a member of the Penn Line Church of Christ in Pierpont, Ohio and had taught Sunday school there. She cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved spending time with them. Survivors include two daughters, Myrna Young of Linesville and Sandra Morrison of Ashtabula, Ohio; a son, ‘Thomas Young of Pierpont: five grandchildren, Julie Morrison Randolph and her husband, David, of Kingsville, Ohio, Nieole Long and her husband, Bob, of Ashtabula, Raymond Young of Pierpont, David Young and his wife, Amy, of Pierpont, and Thomas Young and his wife, Cathleen, of Linesville; nine great-grandchildren, Michael Leavitt, Amanda Randolph, Gabriel Randolph, Brandon Long, Blake Long, Emily Young, Joslyn Young, Rylee Young and Hannah Young; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister, Marian Parker, In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Arlene’s name to the Penn Line Church of Christ, 6968 U.S. Route 6, Pierpont, OH 44082. Calling hours will be Thursday from noon until 1 p.m. at the Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highwa 6, Linesville. A funeral service will follow the calling at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Ron Welker o the Penn Line Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be private in Penn Line Cemetery.
