Robert Michael Tush

       Robert Michael Tush, 92, formerly of Espyville, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at Colonial Terrace Personal Care in Corry, after an extended illness. 

      He was born December 16, 1924, in Espyville, son of the late Michael and Mildred Tush.  At the age of four, he moved with his parents to Pittsburgh, returning to this area at the age of nine. 

     He attended Jamestown High School, and after graduation went to work with his father on their farm.  After a number of years on the farm, he went to work at Andover Industries, where he worked until his retirement in 1990. 

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Jane Bennett, who he married on June 22, 1949.  They spent their life together doing activities they both enjoyed, remolding their home, traveling, gardening, dancing, sightseeing and spending time with family.  Robert was an avid golfer and played until the age of 90.  After retirement he became an avid reader, especially political mysteries.  Throughout his entire life he took great pride in caring for his lawn and kept it looking immaculate.  Robert was a lifelong member of St. Philips Parish, where he served as an usher almost his entire life. 

     Robert is survived by a son, Robert Allen and his wife, Barbara, of Miami, Florida and a daughter, Debora Anne and her partner, Larry Walters, of Columbus, Pennsylvania.  He is also survived by a granddaughter, Christine and her husband, Jeff Yannitty, of Sarasota, Florida. 

     Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Philip Roman Catholic Church, 401 South Mercer St., Linesville, with Father Chris Hamlett as Celebrant.

     The family will receive friends prior to the Mass from 10 until 11 a.m. at St. Philip Church. 

     Burial will be in St. Philip Cemetery.

      In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Nursing Services of North East, 7 Park St., North East, Pa 16428 or the hospice of your choice.
