Mary Higgins Obituary

     Mary C. Higgins, 85, of Linesville, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019, at the Meadville Medical Center.  She had resided at Rolling Fields in Conneautville for the past year.

     Born January 4, 1934 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of Bernard and Wanda Lang Woods.  She married James Higgins on December 1, 1951 in Conneautville; he preceded her in death on November 12, 1998.  She later married Carl Martin in August of 2003. 

     Mary was a graduate of Linesville High School.  She and her husband, James, owned and operated Higgins dairy farm in Linesville for many years.  She had also worked at Ray’s Marketplace in Linesville for several years. 

     She loved spending time and was very involved with her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Mary was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan.  She enjoyed working in the yard and tending to her flowers beds. 

     Survivors include her husband, Carl Martin of Linesville; three daughters, Laurie Urbanick and her husband, John, of Conneautville, Lynn Greig and her husband, Timothy, of Linesville, and Lisa Kay Arnold of Linesville; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Walker of Linesville and Joan Maffey and her husband, Gene, of Sharpsville; a brother, Dr. Robert Woods of Greenville; and many nieces and nephews. 

     She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, James Higgins; a daughter, LuAnn Lucchetti; a brother, Bernard Woods; and a sister, Marcella (Marcie) DeArment Phillips. 

     Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Hwy 6, Linesville. 

     A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Father Chris Hamlett of St. Philip Church officiating.  Additional calling hours will be Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. before the service. 

     Burial will be in St. Philip Cemetery in Linesville.   

     Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 505 Poplar St., Meadville, Pa 16335 (www.cancer.org).
