Marcella (Marcie) Elizabeth DeArment Phillips, 90, of Citrus Springs, Florida, passed away with peace and grace on Thursday, May 18, 2017, at her "summer" home in Linesville.  Marcie had a stroke in November at their home in Citrus Springs, Florida.  It was her wish to return to Linesville, which she achieved on Mother's Day.

Marcie was born to Bernard and Wanda (Lang) Woods, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania on July 20, 1926. She married Paul DeArment on September 19, 1947. He passed away in 1992. She  then married Steve Phillips on November 25, 1995, at St. Philip Church in Linesville.

Marcie was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister and friend.  She was very proud of her family and loved being “Nana” to her grandchildren. Marcie loved holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her.  She would spend hours cooking and preparing for her company.   She enjoyed gardening, canning and going to yard sales.  Although she will be missed by all that knew and loved her, her baked beans, seven layer and cream cheese Christmas cookies will also be missed.

Marcie was devoted to her Catholic faith and was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton of Citrus Springs Florida and a long standing member of St. Phillip’s Roman Catholic Church in Linesville.

Marcie is survived by her devoted husband, Steve Phillips; a son, Paul DeArment and his wife, Carol, of Wexford; three daughters, Gayle Chapin and her husband, Barry, of Linesville, Sally DeArment Gawlinski and her husband, Tom, of Meadville, and Diane Merhaut and her husband, Shawn, of Westlake, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Darren and Andrew DeArment, Benjamin and Jeffery Chapin, Erin Van Dusen, Brian and Emily King and Laura Capiccioni; five great-grandchildren Joseph, Sydney, Robert, Therese Marie and Madaline; three sisters, Patricia Walker of Linesville, Mary Higgins and her husband, Carl Martin, of Linesville, and Joan Maffey and her husband, Gene, of Yardley, Pennsylvania; a brother, Dr. Robert Woods of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Paul DeArment; a grandson, Sean DeArment; and a brother, Bernard V. Woods.

Please join the family for a Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Marcie Phillips at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, at St. Philip Roman Catholic Church, 401 South Mercer St., Linesville, with Father Chris Hamlett as Celebrant.

The family will receive friends prior to the Mass from 10 until 11 a.m. at St. Philip Church.

Burial will be in St. Philip Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Crawford County, 464 Pine St., Meadville, Pa 16335 or to St. Philip Church, 401 S. Mercer St., Linesville, Pa 16424.
