John P. Clausen

     John P. Clausen, age 69, of Townline Rd., Linesville went to be home with his eternal father Thursday morning August 8, 2019.  He was born in Pittsburgh on September 19, 1949, a son of Paul N. and Jean L. (McClure) Clausen.

     He was a 1967 graduate of Linesville Conneaut Summit High School. John served his country in the United States Army and then entered the Army Reserves where he retired as staff sergeant after 19 years of service. He was previously employed at M.F.G. in Linesville for 19 years and also was a rural carrier for the postal service in Linesville for 31 years.

     He was a member of Linesville First Baptist Church where he served on the mission board and traveled on multiple mission trips.  He enjoyed hunting, and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Erie SeaWolves fan.  

     John traveled the country on his motorcycle and hiked the Appalachian Trail.  He was a member of the White Oak Shooting Club, Mail Carrier Association, and Secretary/Treasurer of the Pennsylvania State Postal Union.  He was a Boy Scout leader and coached little league. 

     He was a wonderful father to his son, Kevin John Clausen of Linesville; he is also survived by his loving friend, Pam Brubaker of Conneaut Lake;  four sisters, Karen Bean (Randy) of Mount Airy, NC, Karol Tau (Chester) of Springboro, Kristy Bowersox (John) of Meadville, and Sue Thomas (Earl) of Willow Street, PA, three brothers, James P. Clausen of Linesville, Joseph P. Clausen (Cherryll) of Linesville, and Paul N. Clausen of Ellwood, Indiana.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

     A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the Linesville First Baptist Church, 6114 U.S. Hwy 6, Linesville with Pastor Terry Smith officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. prior to the service.  Full military honors will follow.
