     Dolores Eileen (Dolly) Smith, 85, of Linesville, passed away after a short illness on Monday, February 27, 2017, at the Crawford County Care Center in Saegertown.

     Born January 6, 1932, in Meadville, she was the daughter of Arden and Inez Davis Smith. 

     She was a 1949 graduate of Linesville High School and then went on to graduate from Oil City Business College.    

     Dolly worked as the Administrative Secretary for the University of Pittsburgh at the Pymatuning Ecology Lab and retired in 1997 after many years.

     She was a very active member of the Linesville United Methodist Church. 

     Dolly was a creative soul and an aspiring author of short stories.  She was an excellent seamstress and had even made two of her daughter’s wedding dresses.  Dolly loved creating cakes for family birthdays and celebrations.  In her younger years, she served as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. 

     She loved to work on genealogy and in her spare time enjoyed bowling and golfing.  Dolly was an inspiration to all her children and grandchildren.  She cherished her beloved dog, Clifford.

     Survivors include her four children, Sandra Hanstine and her husband, Daniel, of Saegertown, Terri Zoner of Linesville, Robert Smith and his companion, Joan Galentine, of Linesville, Eileen Kotlar and her husband, Michael, of Cambridge Springs; 8 grandchildren, Aaron Hanstine of Saegertown, Lee Hanstine and his wife, Jasmin, of Pittsburgh, Cory Zoner and his wife, Ashley, of Linesville, Anna Kotlar and her fiancé, Jim Kneubehl, of Cambridge Springs, Katy Munoz and her husband, Javier, of Ashtabula, Ohio, Jon Kotlar and his wife, Jamie, of Meadville, Christina Dickson of Cambridge Springs, and Ryan Smith of Linesville; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Linda James and her husband, Dick, of Conneaut Lake; two sister-in-law’s, Patricia Rockwell of Meadville and Donna Hartzell of Linesville; and two brother-in-law’s, Howard Smith of Georgia and Jerry Smith of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, former husband, Robert Smith, and a son-in-law, Allan Zoner.      

     Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U. S. Highway 6, Linesville.  Additional calling hours will be Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

     A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Dennis E. Lawton of the Linesville United Methodist Church officiating.

     Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Meadville. 

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made to the Linesville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 86, Linesville, Pa 16424.
