          Bartholomew G. (Barry) Pierce, 67, of Linesville, passed away suddenly, on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at the Louis Stokes Veteran Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. 

          Born December 14, 1949, in Butler, he was the son of Vance and Mary Gertrude Knittle Pierce. 

          Barry served our country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. 

          He was known to many as a “Jack of all trades”.  He knew how to do a little bit of everything and had held various jobs. 

          He attended St. Philip Roman Catholic Church in Linesville. 

          Barry loved nature and was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He liked to cook for and spend time with his family.  He enjoyed just being outdoors and walking in the woods. 

          Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca (Becky) Conway of Linesville, and Bonnie Pierce of Guys Mills; a son, David Pierce and his wife, Nichole, of Conneaut Lake; two grandchildren, Abbie and Vance Thompson of Guys Mills; three sisters, Trudy Stevenson of Butler, Mary Lynn (Lynnie) Bartholomew and her husband James of Conneautville, and Teddy Jo Eichenlaub of Wexford; and many nieces and nephews.

          He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Vance Edward Pierce; six brothers, George, Vince, David, Joseph, Jim and John Pierce; and two sisters, Tess Simon and Vancey Hartwick.

         Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U. S. Highway 6, Linesville.  A prayer vigil will be held at 7:45 p.m.

          A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Father Daniel Prez of St. Hippolyte Parish in Guys Mills officiating.  Additional calling hours will be on Monday prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. 

         Burial with full military honors, provided by the Huidekoper Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006, will be in St. Philip Cemetery in Linesville.
