     Ann T. Janiak, 97, of Linesville, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at Wesbury United Methodist Community in Meadville, where she had resided for the past year and a half. 

     Born December 1, 1919, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of John and Agnes Niespodzianski Tomczak.  She married Anthony R. (Tony) Janiak on April 12, 1942 in Pittsburgh.  He preceded her in death on March 12, 2008. 

     She was a member of St. Philip Church in Linesville. 

     She was a graduate of South Hills High School in Pittsburgh. 

     Ann was a loving and devoted homemaker.  She and her husband formerly owned and operated the Arlington Hotel in Linesville. 

     She was a soap opera fanatic.   She looked forward to playing bingo and getting her hair done at Wesbury.  Ann loved spending time with her family and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

     Survivors include a son, Anthony R. Janiak Jr. and his wife, Anne, of White Plains, New York; two daughters, Judythe Janiak of Meadville and Barbara Janiak-Smith and her husband, Richard, of Meadville; five grandchildren, Brian Janiak and his wife, Alicia, of New York City, Carolyn Earthy and her husband, Scott, of Scarsdale, New York, James Headley and his wife, Desiree, of Naples, Florida, Justyn Greco and her husband, Chris, of Saegertown, and Joshua Janiak of New York City; seven great-grandchildren Brady and Lindsey Greco, Connor and Grace Janiak, and Nathan, Emma and Kaitlyn Earthy; a sister, Dorothy Kane of Yorktown, Virginia; a sister-in-law, Betty Tomczak of Tampa, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Marie Murphy and two brothers, Raymond and Frank Tomczak. 

     Calling hours will be Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Wesbury’s Barco Chapel, 31 Park Ave., Meadville.

     Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at St. Philip Church, 401 S. Mercer St., Linesville with Father David Poulson as Celebrant.  The family will receive friends prior to the Mass from 10 to 11 a.m. at church on Friday.    

     Burial will be in St. Philip Cemetery.

     The family suggests memorials be made to St. Philip Church, 401 S. Mercer St., Linesville, Pa 16424 or the Keystone Blind Association, 312 Chestnut St., Meadville, Pa 16335.

     Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
