Jerry Farley Obituary

     

     Jerry S. Farley, 83, of Linesville, passed away unexpectedly surrounded by his loving children at his residence on Monday,  March 18, 2024, after a long battle with COPD. 

     Born November  22, 1940 in McKeesport, he was the son of Hubert and Cora (Davison) Farley. He married Ruth Ann Grinnell on September 28, 1965 in Meadville.  She preceded him in death on October 13, 2008.

     He served in the United States Army from 1958-1962 in the 169th Engineering Corp.

     Jerry was employed for Avtex for 20 years in service and delivery.  He then worked for Ferrellgas for over 20 years until his retirement.  During retirement he volunteered as a driver for the Disabled American Veterans.            

     He enjoyed hunting, mechanical work and cherishing time spent with his family.

     Survivors include his children; Terri Lynn (Terry) Robison, of Meadville, Jeffrey Hubert Farley of Linesville and Denise Peters of Meadville; grandchildren, Diana Jolene Robison, Rachel Robison, Chaz Robison, Sonja (Jesse) Rossey, Fauna (Daisy) Roblandza, Laniah (Matt) Robey, Jerry H. Farley, Monica I. Farley, Bethany Farley, Nevada Peters, Benjamin Peters, and Joseph Peters; many great-grandchildren; sister, Judy (Paul) Dougherty; brother, Raymond Farley; two sister-in-law’s, Bonnie Farley and Margaret Grinnell; and many nieces and nephews. 

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Cora Farley; wife, Ruth Ann Farley; sister, Esther (Bud) Beach; and brother, John Farley. 

     Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 21 at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.

     The funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Friday, March 22 at the funeral home with Pastor Terry Smith officiating. 

     Burial with full military honors will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Meadville.

     The family suggests memorials be made to the American Lung Association (www.lung.org).
