Alan Wolfe Obituary

Alan Bain Wolfe, 91, formerly of Espyville, Pa and a resident of St. Pauls in Greenville, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024, at UPMC Hamot in Erie.

Born January 28, 1933, in Indiana, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Walton and Anna (Wesdock) Wolfe.

Alan graduated from Indiana High School in 1951 and then graduated from Indiana State Teachers College in 1955.

He served as a quartermaster in the United States Army from 1956 until he was honorably discharged in 1958.

For thirty years, Alan was a music teacher and band director at Norwin East High School in North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania.  After retirement, he purchased land in Espyville where he built his home near Lake Pymatuning.

He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church where he served as an acolyte and played the organ. He was involved with the Kiwanis in the community.  As all of his family members know, he loved the Wesdock family reunions and was passionate about providing family facts for the Wesdock family tree.

Survivors include two nieces, Rebecca Turley (David) of Frederick, Maryland and Barbara Polonsky of Columbia, Maryland; a nephew, Bruce Wolfe of Irwin, Pennsylvania; great nieces and nephews, Megan (Jared) Cole, Christopher Turley, Alex (Heather) Polonsky and Noah Polonsky; great-great nieces and nephews, Cameron, Kaia, Addy, Levi, Claire and Max; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jerome Wolfe.
