     Sally A. Gillette, 86, of Linesville, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, after a brief illness, at the Meadville Medical Center. 

     Born February 2, 1931, in Tallmadge, Ohio, she was the daughter of Boyd G. and Catherine Pettingell Heminger.  She married Harold N. Gillette on November 23, 1948 and he preceded her in death on February 25, 1974. 

     She worked for the United States Postal Service as a rural carrier and a window clerk for 21 years.  She also sold Avon products for over 30 years.  She was Conneaut Township Secretary from 1971 until 2007.  

     Sally was a member of the Linesville First Baptist Church where she was very active.  She played the piano and was the choir director for 30 years.  Sally attended the Progressive Sunday School Class.  She was also a member of the American Baptist Woman’s Missionary Society.

     She enjoyed sewing and traveling to see her children and grandchildren.  She loved feeding and watching the birds on her side porch.   

     Survivors include seven children, Glenn Gillette and his wife, Lizbeth, of Pittsburgh, Sandra Goodrich and her husband, Thomas, of Streetsboro, Ohio, Gary Gillette and his wife, Laura, of Sarasota, Florida, Mark Gillette and his wife, Deb, of Wernersville, Pennsylvania, Jeffrey Gillette and his wife, Nancy, of Delaware, Ohio, Karen Winn and her husband, R. David, of Erie, and Scott Gillette and his wife, Laura, of E. Amherst, New York; 22 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; a sister, Mary Beth Thomas and her husband, William, of Deltona, Florida; a brother David Heminger of Deltona, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold Gillette; a son, Kim Allen Gillette; a sister, Betty Barton; and three brothers, Boyd Heminger Jr., Dean Heminger and J. Richard Heminger.   

     The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the Linesville First Baptist Church, 6114 U.S. Hwy 6, Linesville. 

     A funeral service will follow the calling hours at 7 p.m. at the church with Pastor Joel Weck officiating.

     A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Linesville Cemetery, Wallace Avenue.  Please meet at the cemetery. 

     The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Linesville First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 387, Linesville, Pa 16424. 

     Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U. S. Highway 6, Linesville.
