Jean (Sexton) Ward

     N. Jean Ward, 85, of Linesville, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at the Meadville Medical Center. 

     Born December 5, 1931, in Saegertown, she was the daughter of Ernest and Agnes May Beige Sexton.  She married Steve Krem in 1955 and he preceded her in death on May 20, 1995.       She married Melvin Ward on October 5, 2000 at the Linesville First Baptist Church.

     She was raised in Venango and graduated from Cambridge Springs High School in 1949.

     Jean retired from the Meadville Livestock Auction.  She also had worked at Talon Inc., Ohio Rubber, and the Days Inn in Meadville as head of housekeeping.

     She was a great sports fan and rooted for the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Pittsburgh Steelers.  For 17 years, Jean and her husband enjoyed winters in Florida and she loved collecting sea shells at Fort De Soto Beach. 

     Besides her husband, Melvin L. Ward, she is survived by three daughters, Kim Kebert and her husband, Ken, Kelly Bertuzzi and her husband, Frank, and Kathy Porter and her husband, Tracy; three grandchildren, Sean Murray, Aaron Murray, and Samantha Perry; two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Cameron; two sisters, Janet Hansen and Joyce Woge and her husband, John; and several nieces and nephews.    

     The family will receive friends on Friday from 3 to 4 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville. 

     A funeral service will follow the calling hours at 4 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home with Pastor David Cox of the Greenville First Baptist Church officiating. 

     Burial will be in Venango Cemetery.
