Florence Hoffman Collins

     Florence Hoffmann Collins, 92, of Espyville, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community in Meadville.

     Florence was born January 9, 1925, in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, to the late George and Inez Engle Hoffmann.  She married Dale Collins on September 14, 1946, in Aliquippa.   She and her husband retired to Espyville in 1981. 

     She attended Ohio University and graduated with a degree as a Medical Technician.  Florence worked a Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh as a Medical Technician. 

     She was a member of the North Shenango Presbyterian Church in Espyville.  She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

     Florence enjoyed sewing, knitting and loved genealogy.  She and her husband enjoyed traveling and wintering at Jekyll Island in Georgia. 

     Survivors include her loving husband of 71 years, Dale Whitman Collins, who resided in the same room as she at Wesbury; her two daughters, Laurel Collins and Teri Irons and her husband, Tom, both of Espyville.  Also surviving are a grandson, Clint Irons and his wife, Heather, of Edinboro and 5 great grandchildren. 

     Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U. S. Highway 6, Linesville.

     A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. on Monday at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, 31 Park Avenue, Meadville with Pastor Sam Marchetta, Director of Pastoral Care, officiating. 

     Burial will be private in Espyville Cemetery.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the North Shenango Presbyterian Church, 10377 Church Rd., or the Espyville Cemetery Association, 1868 Chapel Rd., both of Espyville, Pa 16424.
