Elaine Marie (Headley) Sherretts

     Elaine Marie (Headley) Sherretts, 88, of Linesville, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016, at Rolling Fields in Conneautville, where she had resided for the past 1 ½ years.

     Born October 17, 1927, in Linesville, she was the daughter of William and Charlotte Thompson Headley.  She married Howard A. Sherretts on June 27, 1947 in Greenup, Kentucky.  He preceded her in death on May 5, 2008.

     Elaine was a 1945 graduate of Linesville High School where she was very active in sports, especially basketball.  She worked at Talon in Meadville and retired in 1982. 

     She was a member of the Linesville United Methodist Church and the Lakeland Area Senior Center in Linesville.  Elaine was a former member of the Diamond Chapter 120 Order of the Eastern Star in Linesville and a member of the Conneaut Couples Association at the Park Golf Course. 

     She was an avid golfer and bowler.  She loved to travel and for over 20 years she and Howard wintered in North Fort Myers, Florida at Old Bridge Park.  She enjoyed playing cards at the senior center and with her family, especially on Sunday afternoons with her sisters and nieces.

     Survivors include a sister-in-law, Maxine Headley of Linesville and numerous nieces and nephews. 

     She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and ten siblings, Beryl Kitsa, Bernice Bollard, George Headley, Wilson Headley, Howard Headley, Joyce Cotton, Jean Campbell, her twin brother, Dwayne Headley, Susie Shunkwiler and an infant sister, Sarah Headley.    

     Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville. 

     A funeral service will be held at the funeral home following the calling at 4 p.m., with Rev. Dennis E. Lawton of the Linesville United Methodist Church officiating.

     Burial will be private in Linesville Cemetery.

     The family would like to thank the support staff at Rolling Fields for their loving care they provided for Elaine.
